A counter offer is a form of negotiation. When a purchaser puts in an offer on a property that is less than the asking price, the vendor generally comes back with a price that is either less than the asking price and more than the offer that was made. The aim of a real estate counter offer is to get both the purchaser and the vendor to a place where they both feel comfortable either purchasing or selling the property.
