The Role
You’ll start as part of our Customer Service team. Every day is different, and you will be on the go constantly. Variety is a constant. From working in our office resolving problems for our tenants and helping things run smoothly, assisting people who are looking for their new home to lease and going out to show and present property.
As part of a team, you’ll enjoy the comradery and support of others. There will be times when you are flat out running from one property to the next and there will be times when things are slower, to chat and laugh about the events of the day.
As you progress in the role, more responsibility and opportunities will be afforded you. You’ll work with our Portfolio Managers learning their role and being trained and coached in best practice and strategies in Property Management. We have a long history of training our Portfolio Managers from the ground up. We want you to succeed.
Our company and our culture
We started back in 1957 when real estate agencies were small and there were still dirt roads in many parts of our city.
Simple things were always important to us: ethics, honesty and hard work. Professionalism and success were measured by the respect people held for you. Agreements were made on a handshake and a promise to do the right thing.
Our firm has grown and evolved but some things will never change. We will always believe in handshakes and keeping our promises. We are a family business and as one of our team members, you are part of our family too.
We are focused on sales and management of residential property and operate from inner west to the outer west and across the entire North Shore of Sydney. We manage well over a thousand properties and are one of Sydney’s larger property management businesses. Our clients vary from large corporates and national organisations to private individuals. The one key characteristic is constant, they each trust and rely on us to represent them with humanity and professionalism.
Our values are the heart of our team and they must resonate with you or we will never be a good fit. Our team members share these values, they
- Embrace every challenge as an opportunity to learn
- Build open and honest relationships, we all deserve nothing less
- Value perseverance, encourage and support each other and never give up
- Take responsibility, how we respond is always our choice
- Be adventurous and imaginative, wonderful things happen every day
- Avoid arrogance, it makes us blind to the humanity in others and the imperfections in ourselves
- Have fun and laugh, being able to smile is a gift to all
Structured Training Plan
We are looking for character and attitude rather than specific qualifications and experience. Training and developing people is what we do and in fact, are regularly approached by other agencies to train their property managers.
From the start, one of our team members will work alongside you, teaching you our various systems and processes. There is a lot to learn and it does take time, but you will be building skills and gaining confidence in your ability to deal with the challenges and variations of the job.
Much of our training is focused on developing your interpersonal and communications skills so you can confidently manage people who might be stressed and anxious. Our role as our client’s representative means supporting and guiding our tenants, helping them resolve issues and dealing with the challenges they face. We maintain our integrity in all our dealings, showing tenants the respect they deserve regardless of their circumstance or position.
Becoming a great Property Manager is not a quick process. Along with training, you will also benefit from the mentoring and leadership of Stephen Jackson, one of our directors and our General manager, Kristine De Santis who heads up the Property Management team. Both Stephen and Kristine have a combined experience of over 55 years. No matter what situation you might face, Kristine and Stephen have dealt with it many times before and know how to achieve the right outcome for everyone.
Career Opportunities
We have specialist New business agents who generate and secure the majority of our new business. We have been growing steadily through all the market fluctuations and have clear plans to continue for many years to come. Your personal growth will naturally lead to career opportunities in Property management through increased seniority and there is always the option to change focus to sales if you are suited and that’s what you prefer. Our large team gives all of us the flexibility to take holidays and attend training without leaving our clients unattended or have work piling up in our absence.
Our Office Location
Our office design is professional and inviting. We are right in the heart of Ryde next to the Top Ryde shopping complex. Being able to easily run your own errands and having a real break for lunch, makes your working day just that little bit nicer. To top it off, there is also plenty of street parking.
